About Denise

Denise graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Medical Rehabilitation (Physiotherapy) from the University of Manitoba in 2001. Prior to her focus in oncology and cancer rehabilitation, she gained years of experience with musculoskeletal injuries, women's health, chronic pain, disability and reconditioning. Since 2016, she has been passionate about advancing her skills and education in order to help those living with and beyond a cancer diagnosis manage treatment side effects, restore function and get back to doing the things they love. Her dedication to education and cancer rehabilitation has driven her to pursue research at a Masters level at the University of Manitoba and teach continuing education in cancer rehabilitation to Manitoba physiotherapists. Outside of working at the clinic and on research, Denise loves being outdoors, running, kayaking, cross country skiing and yoga. And most of all, spending time with her family!

Laura graduated from the University of Manitoba Master of Physical Therapy Program in 2021. Over the past three years, Laura has worked in both clinic and hospital settings. A strong interest in oncology & cancer rehab has lead her to taken further education in the field, most specifically in breast cancer. Laura's passion for physiotherapy began with a passion for physical activity. She has always had a love of team sports, such as basketball and volleyball, as well as individual sports, such as swimming, cycling, and most recently powerlifting. As a physical therapist today, Laura is passionate about patient-centered care and evidence-based practice. She truly enjoys collaborating with patients to work towards their functional goals and assisting in creating or maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.

Lydia graduated from the University of Manitoba with her Bachelor's Degree in Medical Rehabilitation (Physical Therapy) in 2004. Over the last 20+ years, Lydia has been working in private practice where she has gained extensive experience, including treating musculoskeletal and athletic injuries; Pre and Post Surgical Rehabilitation; Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy; Oncology and Cancer Rehabilitation; Post Concussion Management; and Pain Education/Management. Lydia has developed a strong interest in Oncology and Cancer Rehabilitation and is excited to be working at PhysioCARE+. Lydia sees this as a great opportunity to help empower her clients through education and rehabilitation, and to assist with improving their function and quality of life at any stage following a cancer diagnosis. Lydia likes to promote a healthy lifestyle by staying active through yoga, biking, hiking, gardening, travelling, and spending time with her family. Lydia greatly enjoys her profession and believes that continuing education is essential to provide the best possible care to her clients.
